My name is Jackie and my husband Tyler and I live in Seattle, WA where we are raising our two children. Our daughter is 15 and has cerebral palsy and developmental delay & has a wheelchair for mobility. Our son is a super curious and energetic young man who is always looking for another adventure.
This blog is my solution to keeping our home community of amazing people connected while we journey on during this crazy time of COVID.
My husband and I have spent our entire 20+ year relationship together camping and in the outdoors. When our daughter was born, despite her challenges, we continued on taking her with us. Sadly our backing days were over for a long while and we converted to ‘car camping’. She used to love camping but as she is getting older she tolerates the unpredictable sensory exposures much much less And it has made camping with her teenage self not very relaxing or fun. Maybe a camping trailer will be the solution and compromise that’s needed now... Guess we will all see!
After being a stay at home mom and caregiver since our daughter was born, I returned to school a few years ago to pursue a special education teaching degree which I luckily completed right before covid was a known thing in the world.
